Yes, it happened again. We have another broody hen. Jackie Chan (JC) has been keeping warm 2 wooden eggs for the last 2 weeks. We know she is a dedicated mom, so today we fetched 3 new chicks for her. Coco is also broody again, but last time she gave up on being a mom rather quick and started laying eggs again. Last time grouchy took care of the extra chicks from Coco. But we doubt JC will do the same. So we aren't sure if we will put a chick under Coco tonight or not.
Maybe Grouchy (who is still taking care of the 9 week old chicks) will do it.
If not ... we will take it from there ...
This time we have surprise chickens (TM). The lady of the feedstore was given these chicks by a customer who had no space for extra chicks/chickens. We got them for free, but it's not known what kind of chickens they are, _or_ weather they are male/female.
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow ....
